Experience
Alisha O'Donovan
I am a fully qualified and licensed counsellor in the United States of America (as seen below) and an accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI). As a therapist, my approach to psychotherapy is grounded in a unified approach to the science of clinical psychology that assimilates and integrates key insights from the major approaches (e.g., CBT, humanistic, person-centred) into a more coherent whole. The alliance between client and therapist is a key factor in the therapeutic process.
I aim to facilitate a safe and confidential space for self-exploration and change. I like to start off by learning more about you, your strengths, your goals, and any barriers that may be in the way. I have experience in working with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, suicide prevention, stress, trauma, relationship/intimacy conflicts, self-esteem, and personal exploration. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.
If I seem like a good fit for you for online counselling, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to hear your story and am honoured to share in your journey.
I look forward to working with you!
Alisha
