About
quay co.
counselling & psychotherapy

Quay Co. Counselling and Psychotherapy exists at the intersection of where you are now and where you hope to go. Whether you read it as quay /key/ co. or quay /kway/ co., you are welcome here.
The name Quay Co. carries personal meaning. It draws from Quay Road in New Mexico, USA—where I was raised and where my journey in caring for others began. That place shaped my values and instilled in me a deep sense of purpose in making a difference in the lives of others that remains at the heart of my work today.
It also reflects the quays (or keys) of Ireland—a symbol of passage, grounding, and new beginnings. To me, they represent a safe space to pause, reflect, and begin a new chapter. A space to hold you as you gently unburden the self.
Experience
Alisha O'Donovan
I am a licensed counsellor in the United States in New Mexico, a member of the American Psychological Association and an accredited member of both the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI). My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing on key evidence-based models—including CBT, DBT, humanistic, and person-centred frameworks—to offer tailored, compassionate support grounded in the science of clinical psychology. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a central part of the healing process.

My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and confidential space for self-exploration, growth, and change. I begin by getting to know you—your strengths, goals, and the challenges that may be getting in the way. I have experience supporting individuals through depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, suicide prevention, grief, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, and personal identity work.

I understand how much courage it takes to begin this process, and I am here to walk alongside you as you take that first step toward a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

If you feel we may be a good fit, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d be honoured to hear your story and support you on your journey.
I look forward to working with you!
Alisha
